Love this gun. We just passed a law allowing concealed carry in Wisconsin so I needed a new gun for CC. While researching I found the Ruger LCP. LCP stands for lightweight compact pistol... and they got that right. Designed for CC. First time on the range I shot 3 different brands: Blazer FMJ, American Eagle FMJ and Federal JHP. No misfires or cycling issues at all. In fact the first 3 American Eagle rounds were bullseyes from 30 feet - nice surprise. Three things to get used to for experienced shooters. First, the grip is so short that your last finger does not touch the grip. But the gun needs to be small for concealability, and the gun does not recoil so much that you need a full grip. But for a better grip you can always swap the standard magazine baseplate for the fingerrest baseplate that is included. Second, the sights are so small that target acquisition is a bit more challenging. But I view the weapon as an emergency solution to a close proximity problem, where you simply point and shoot rather than aim and shoot. So the small sights are no big deal. Third, the trigger pull is longer than any other gun you own. The gun is also easy to field strip, clean and reassemble. Bottom line... love this gun.
